Since these proposals were first published, Ofcom has announced an Ipswich license on 102.0. The proposals below could be used for additional stations in Suffolk. Within the ILR sub-bands, a station for Ipswich can be accommodated on 106.9 or 107.3. A highly directional antenna pattern from Manningtree may be required. The Ipswich area could also be covered from Manningtree on 93.8 and/or 91.6. Alternatively, the national services could be moved to these frequencies with new stations started on the current national frequencies. Bury St Edmunds can be served on 105.1/2. Alternatively, 107.3 could be used for West Suffolk instead of at Ipswich. East Suffolk from Aldeburgh could be covered on 102.8/9 and 105.7. A new Suffolk licence could be combined with one of the Norwich licenses on the Ofcom list. | London Yorkshire East Midlands Glasgow & Edinburgh AM stations Ireland FM Ireland AM Future stations archive index Features index |
