A new station for a Glasgow could be accommodated on 102.1, provided the Black Hill site is used. To avoid interference to Forth 1 (Penicuik) and Wave 102 on adjacent frequencies, the power radiated to the east would have to be severely limited. A lower power than Clyde 1 and Saga in the direction of Glasgow itself may also be required. Alternatively, the new station for Glasgow could be accommodated on 97.0 if the Clyde 1 relay at Milburn Muir is moved from 97.0 to 97.5, or 107.7. The new Glasgow station would have to be broadcast at a low power than Clyde 1 and Saga to avoid interference to Forth 1 and West FM. A new station for Edinburgh city, (in addition to that awarded to Dunedin FM), could be accommodated on 102.2 if the Forth 1 realy at Penicuik is moved from 102.2 to 96.3/4 or 97.0. and 102.1 is not used in Glasgow. The new station would not cover West Lothian, Falkirk or Fife to avoid interference to Wave 102 and Clyde 1. An alternative frequency for Edinburgh city is 96.6, provided the Kingdom FM relay on 96.6 is moved to 107.4/5 or 106.3 (synchronised). The new station would not cover West Lothian and Falkirk to avoid interference to West FM. Coverage in Fife would be more limited than that of Forth 1 to avoid interference to Tay FM in Perth. | London Yorkshire East Midlands Suffolk AM stations Ireland FM Ireland AM Future stations archive index Features index |
