Option 1

A single transmitter at Copt Oak could serve the Nottingham, Derby and Leicester area on 97.2. However, a large number of local stations in the Midlands would need to be relocated as follows:

• The Nottingham community station, Radio Faza, would have move to from 97.1. If the RAM FM signal is not too strong, 102.6 or 103.0 could be used. Otherwise, 98.5 and 107.3 are option.
• Connect Wellingborough would move from 97.2 to either 102.4 or 107.6 (synchronised with the other transmitter on 107.4 as is done for Hertbeat).
• The main Mercia FM transmitter would move from 97.0 to 106.3 or 99.3/4.
• Beacon WM would move from 97.2 to 106.8 or 94.1/2 or to 97.0 with Signal Stafford moved from 96.9 to 106.8 or 94.1/2.

Option 2

Alternatively, 97.2 could be used for Nottingham only, requiring fewer stations to move:

• Radio Faza would move as Option 1
• Beacon WM would move from 97.2 to 106.8 or 94.1/2
• Connect Wellingborough might have to move as Option 1

The Leicester and Derby areas would be served by transmitters in the BBC National bands:

• Derby on 99.2
• Leicester on 90.9/92.0 or 95.8 (directional from Billesdon or Houghton)

Option 3

This option serves all three cities with transmitters in the BBC bands:

• Nottingham on 98.5. This may need to use reduced power to the East compared to Trent FM. It also requires Radio 1 Northampton to move from 98.5 to 99.4.
• Derby on 99.2
• Leicester on 90.9/92.0 or 95.8 (directional from Billesdon or Houghton)

Option 4

A single transmitter at Copt Oak could serve the Nottingham, Derby and Leicester area on 107.1. However, a large number of local stations in the Midlands would need to be relocated as follows:

• Oak FM in Loughborough from 107.0 to 98.5, with Radio 1 Northampton moved from 98.5 to 99.4.
• Rugby FM from 107.1 to 106.3 or 99.2.
• Star FM in Ely, Cambridgeshire from 107.1 to 88.1/2.
• Rutland Radio from 107.2 to 100.9 or to 93.3 with Radio 4 Northampton moved from 93.3 to 94.2.
